When you are an Empath

When you are an Empath

This means that you have the ability to sense the emotions, and feelings of others just by being near them. You  tend to be somewhat shy, especially in a room filled with other people.  You might not be all that shy but because you have a hard time being in a room with others you seem shy, staying to yourself gives that impression.  Being able to pick up on other peoples emotions tends to become overwhelming when you are with a more then a few people at the same time.  Not everyone understands you, in fact some think that your a snob or worse because you rarely participate in group activities, or want to go places.  I have lost friends because they just didn't understand why I never really wanted to go out with them.  I am happy and content to just stay at home.  I am also as are so many others who are gifted with being an Empath a loner type personality, I have no problem being by myself, sometimes I'd rather it.  If your an Empath you can be extremely sensitive,  the slightest thing can and does hurt you, you have a history of being hurt by people through your life, also you are very sensitive to noise/sounds, chatter, and feelings, don't trust easily, don't have many friendships.  Only very few people understand your complex personality, and can understand they can't hide much from you because the second they come near you you know if somethings bothering them, if they are upset about something, if they are happy or excieted about something.  It is not easy to hide your feelings from someone who is an Empath.  That also causes people to stay away, you do learn how to control this power!! and even though it is a gift it can also be a curse.  But once you learn how to control it you can learn to live with it, it also eventually becomes rutine, something you just get used to.  I can tell just as soon as someone walks in the room, or the moment I hear their voice on the phone just how they are feeling. If I am really close to a person I can pick up their emotions just by thinking about them.

There is a page on the left side of the blog with tons more information.....

Selene, Moon Goddess

SELENE, GODDESS OF THE FULL MOON
By DebrahAnna aka Cheyannah~Selene

The moon has always given people a feeling of mystery, filled with thoughts of magickal spells, enchantment and that emotion known as love. Also, the Moon has always been one of the most important symbols of the Goddess.
The full moon usually appears approximaly 14 days after the new moon, although it's energy is thought to last from about three days before the actual full moon to about three days after, and it is associated with the Mother Goddesses, including Danu, Ceridwen, Gaia, Aphrodite and Isis. It is after the first quarter of the Moon that she is seen as a pregnant woman, growing rounder and rounder every day, until she becomes the true full moon; and it is then that she becomes asociated with Selene and Luna, nurturing, passiate, and healing with a strength and power to manifest goals and bring matters to fruition.
That shining sphere, beaming so softly, sending rays of magickal light down to Earth, sets a mood, inspiring lovers and breathing creativity into poets, leaving them no alternative but to write praises to her mysterious beauty. The Moon is nothing short of miraculous. She shows herself in many aspects, and when the time comes that she appears full, she is known by her name as Goddess of the full Moon; that name is Selene.
Selene was the Greek Goddess of the Full Moon and of Solutions. She was known as the second aspect of the Moon; the full moon, representing the lover and bride. If someone had a problem, it was Selene that he would turn to, and she would show him the logical solution to his problem.
Selene was the daughter of the God Hyperion and the Goddess Theia. Her brother was Helios, the God of the Sun, and Eos, her sister, was the Goddess of the Dawn.
Since Selene was a Moon Goddess and Helios, her brother, the Sun God, they were often associated with Apollo and Artemis, because they were healers, and thus worshipping them seemed the logical way to prevent diseases or death.
Selene was known as a great beauty, just as the Moon was so very beautiful. Homer, in his Hymn to Selene 2, described Selene, the Moon: "From her immortal head a radiance is shown from heaven and embraces earth; and great is the beauty that arises from her shining light."
Selene has been envisioned as a beautiful adult woman, wearing a golden crown, appearing gentle, quiet and secure in the knowledge of her power.
Another account shows her wearing silver robes and wings, made from a fabric that reflects the rays of the moonlight; on her forehead sits a silver crown shaped like a crescent, turning it's point upward toward the heavens, and when she is seen travelling, it is in her chariot, drawn by two beautiful white horses.
There were many loves in Selene's life. She was wooed and won by Zeus and by Pan, the woodland God, who was very much in love with her; but the story that is most well known is recounted in the Homeric Hymn to Selene and her beloved Endymion, who lies in eternal sleep.
The Homeric Hymn tells of how Selene fell in love with King Endymion of Elis, an extremely handsome man, who was given a chance by Zeus to become immortal. In order to do that, though, he had to remain eternally asleep. Selene showed her love by visiting Endymion nightly while he slept.
Mystery, love, nurturing, and pregnancy all belong to the full moon. Selene cares for it, for she is a part of it, living for the time when she can once again shine so brightly, her moonbeams dancing gleefully, lighting up the evening sky. I think everyone feels the magick of a Full Moon, when things just seem to happen for no known reason. But we know better, don't we; for we know it is Selene, sending out her warm passionate nature for all to share.

The Magickal Moon...

The Magickal Moon...
The Moon, in Astrology, is the ruler of Cancer. The Moon represents our deepest personal needs, our basic habits and reactions, and our unconscious. Where the Sun acts, the Moon reacts. How do we instinctively react or respond to problems? What do we feel we need for a sense of security? Look to the Moon in your natal chart for answers.
The Moon is associated with the Mother and with feminine energy in general. The Moon is both our inner child and our inner mother. It is responsive, receptive, and reflective. The Moon is our spontaneous and instinctual reactions. Just as the Moon circles the Sun, in a symbolically protective manner, and reflects the Sun's light, the Moon in our chart shows how we protect ourselves, as well as make ourselves feel secure, comfortable, and safe.
We can also think of the Moon as that which gives us animation. It rules rhythmic ebb and flow of activity and energy. The Moon is a mediator between the inner world and the outer world. While the Sun is rational, the Moon is irrational. Habitual behaviors and prejudices are ruled by the Moon. Prejudices may not be acted out, as our Sun may censor them, but the Moon rules our spontaneous reactions and feelings.
For some of us, our Moons seem to drive our personalities more than the Sun does. This is particularly true if the Moon is in a water sign (Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces), or if it is conjunct an angle in the chart (near the Ascendant, Descendant, 4th house cusp, or 10th house cusp). For true happiness in life, it is wise to neither give your Moon too much nor too little importance in your life.
Grant Lewi, in Astrology for the Millions, offered the most evocative description of the Moon when he wrote the following: "When you "know what you mean but you can't say it," it is your Moon that knows it and your Sun that can't say it. "Thoughts that do often lie too deep for tears" are the thoughts of your Moon's nature. The wordless ecstasy, the mute sorrow, the secret dream, the esoteric picture of yourself that you can't get across to the world, or which the world doesn't comprehend or value - these are the products of the Moon in your horoscope.
When you are misunderstood, it is your Moon nature, expressed imperfectly through the Sun sign, that you feel is betrayed. When you know what you ought to do, but can't find the right way to do it, it is your Moon that knows and your Sun that refuses to react in harmony. Also, when you "don't know why I said that," it was your Moon expressing despite your Sun (if you are innerly satisfied with the involuntary speech), or the Sun expressing against the will of the Moon (if you are displeased with what has slipped out). Things you know without thought - intuitions, hunches, instincts - are the products of the Moon. Modes of expression that you feel are truly your deepest self belong to the Moon: art, letters, creative work of any kind; sometimes love; sometimes business. Whatever you feel is most deeply yourself, whether or not you are able to do anything about it in the outer world, is the product of your Moon and of the sign your Moon occupies at birth.
With respect to the other luminary (the Sun), the Moon infuses the past into our lives through the feelings, while the Sun reflects the present or the "here and now". When we are "acting out" our Moon, we are imaginative, creative, intuitive, sentimental, adaptable, introspective, and protective. On the negative side, we can be moody, restless, and irrational. In the natal chart, the position of the Moon by sign shows how we emote and respond to our environment, as well as our instinctual habits, especially in our homes and in private. By house, the Moon's position shows which areas of life we feel the most "at home" or comfortable.

The Wiccan Rede

The Wiccan Rede
Bide the Wiccan laws we must,
In perfect love and perfect trust.
Live and let live,
Fairly take and fairly give.
Cast the circle thrice about,
To keep the Evil spirits out.
To bind the spell everytime,
Let the spell be spake in rhyme.
Soft of eye and soft of touch
 Speak little, listen much.

Desoil go by the waxing moon,
Chanting out the witches rune.
Widdershins go by the waning moon,
Chanting out the baleful rune.
When the ladys moon is new,
Kiss her hand times two.
When the moon rides at her peak,
Then your hearts desire speak.
Heed the north winds might gale,
Lock the door and drop the sail.
When the wind comes from the south,
Love will kiss thee on the mouth.
When the wind blows from the west,
Departed souls will have no rest.
When the wind blows from the east,
Expect the new and set the feast.
Nine woods in the cauldron go,
Burn them fast and burn them slow.
Elder be the ladys tree,

Burn it not or cursed you'll be,
When the wheel begins to turn,
Let the Beltane fires burn.
When the wheel turns to yule,
Light the log the horned one rules.
Heed thy flower, bush and tree,
By the lady Blessed be.
Where the rippling waters go,
Cast a stone and truth youll know.
When you have a true need,
Hearken not to others greed.
With a fool no season spend,
Lest ye be counted as his friend.
Merry met and merry part,
Bright the cheeks and warm the heart.
Mind the threefold law you should,
Three times bad and three times good.
When misfortune is enow,
Paint the blue star on thy brow.

True in love always be,
Lest thy lovers false to thee.
Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill,
An ye harm none, do what ye will.

The Witches Creed

The Witches Creed
By Doreen Valiente

Four times in the year the Great Sabbat Returns,
And the witches are seen,
At Lammas and Candlemass dancing,
On May Even and old Hallowe’en.
When day-time and night-time are equal,
When sun is at greatest and least,
The four Lesser Sabbats are summoned,
Again witches gather in feast.
Thirteen silver moons in a year are,
Thirteen is the coven’s array,
Thirteen times at esbat make merry,
For each golden year and a day.
The power was passed down the ages,
Each time between woman and man,
Each century unto the other,
Ere time and the ages began.
When drawn is the magickal circle,
By sword or athame or power,
It’s compass between the two worlds lies,
In Land of the Shades for that hour.
This world has no right then to know it,
And world of beyond will tell naught,
The oldest of Gods are invoked there,
The Great Work of magick is wrought.
For two are the mystical pillars,
That stand at the gate of the shrine,
And two are the powers of nature,
The forms and the forces divine.
The dark and the light in succession,
The opposites each unto each
Shown forth as a God and a Goddess:
Of this did our ancestors teach.
By night he’s the wild wind’s rider,
The Horn’d One, the Lord of the Shades.
By day he’s the King of the Woodland,
The dweller in green forest glades.
She is youthful and old as she pleases,
She sails the torn clouds in her barque,
The bright silver Lady of midnight,
The crone who weaves spells in the dark.
The master and mistress of magick,
They dwell in the deeps of the mind,
Immortal and ever-renewing,
With power to free or to bind.
So drink the good wine to the old Gods,
And dance and make love in their praise,
Till Elphame’s fair land shall receive us,
In peace at the end of our days.
And Do What You Will be the challenge,
So be it in love that harms none,
For this is the only commandment.
By magick of old be it done!

The Importance of Color In Magick

The Importance of Color In Magick
